The story behind the voice.
Yolanda Bennett. Yo The Herbal Trucker. Media personality, advocate, producer, strategist and community convener.

“I did not set out to become a voice in advocacy, media and civic conversation — life placed me in situations where silence was no longer acceptable.”
Yolanda Bennett, known publicly as Yo The Herbal Trucker, is a media personality, patient advocate, civic voice, producer, strategist and community convener whose work connects lived experience, public awareness, storytelling and meaningful change.
Her platform was built from the understanding that real people are affected by policies, systems, stigma and decisions that are often discussed without them in the room.
I didn't choose advocacy. Advocacy chose me.
These are not stock photos. These are the real moments — hospital beds, IV lines, medical masks, doctor's offices and the long road back. This is where the advocacy began. Not in a boardroom. Not on a stage. In a hospital room, wondering if things would ever get better.

Cannabis didn't just help me heal. It gave me a reason to fight for everyone who deserves the same access, dignity and relief.
Real conversations. Real stages. Real impact.

Yo's voice is grounded in experience. As a former truck driver, former correctional officer, medical cannabis patient and advocate, Yolanda Bennett has seen how healthcare access, disability, justice systems, public policy and community resources can directly shape a person's life.
Her journey has taken her through different lanes, each one adding perspective, purpose and urgency to her work.
Every lane of life added perspective, purpose and urgency.

"My happiest days were behind the wheel."
— Yo The Herbal Trucker
The name The Herbal Trucker represents more than a nickname. It connects Yo's history on the road with her advocacy for cannabis education, patient dignity and access.
Trucking was Yo's childhood dream, inspired by watching Smoky and the Bandit and BJ & the Bear. She had the opportunity to live out those dreams, going from the road to a form of law enforcement through perimeter control — the closest she could get to driving a police car.
Each lane of life added perspective, purpose and urgency to the work she does today.
What began as lived experience on the road grew into a voice. What became a voice grew into advocacy. And what became advocacy has expanded into a full media, civic conversation and creative platform.
"The Herbal Trucker is not one lane of my story — it is the road that connected all of them."
